St. Helens returns all but one player from
last years squad which finished 16-7 in CYO play and
24-11 overall. The Spartans were a Finalist in the 2008 Glens Falls Invitational Tournament
(6th Grade
Girls 'A' Bracket) losing in the Championship Game by 2 points to
Queensbury. St. Helens was a
Semi-Finalist in the 2007-2008 Schenectady County CYO Tournament losing to
champion St. Mary's 34-29.
The Spartans AAU (12U) team
will be active November 22 -25 as they participate in the Junior
Division of
the Troy CYO Tip Off Tournament.
Among the Spartans many accomplishments this past season was a
2nd place finish in the Girl's 6th grade 'A' Bracket
of the prestigious 2008 Glens Falls Basketball Tournament -
in which they defeated travel teams from Clifton Park,
South Glens Falls, and South Colonie.
